I originally made this blog as an alternative to other social media platforms, mainly Twitter. Twitter always sucked, but the suckage massively and rapidly increased in the nearly 2 years since Elon Musk Bought A Website Because It Transed His Kid (and some gritty nonsense about free speech) and it went from an occasionally annoying place where I got to see cool furry art to a place that actively leeches joy from the human body. Despite all of that, Twitter continued to be the place that people congregated. There was this feeling of being stuck in this shitty place just to stay in contact with people you cared about.
And because of this, alternatives like CoHost (rip) and Mastadon felt like promising alternatives that unfortunately were doomed to never be truely viable. It’s hard to pack up your shit and leave a platform, especially if there’s nobody there waiting for you.
But the wind has changed.
Because Elon Musk is Good At Running Companies, a series of decisions has led to users finally hitting their limit and leaving. And fortunately, those who wander are not lost, and the sky is always bluer.
I made a bluesky lol that's what I'm getting atBut don’t fret dear reader! The zonelets blog isn’t going anywhere, and even though I have not updated it since August (Jesus Christ) I DO have plans for it! But now I will additionally have an outlet for any thoughts that can fit into a 300 character limit. I will probably be posting art and video updates there, and pictures of my warhammer miniatures. There’s already some lovely posts on there for you to get your filthy little eyeballs on, so check it out, and watch this space!
Unsafe Clips is currently on production pause as I enter the final stretch of my college certification. When I have actual free time again it will be finished, and it will be glorious.
